*CWO STEAMERS DESTROYED. DAMAGE TOTALS £400,000. (Received 10 a.m.) '■' NEW YORK, September 30. !_. great fire occurred on the waterfront pf Galveston, Texas, to-day. Two piers were destroyed, and a numbers of vessels caught fire, two Italian steamers being totally destroyed. The British steamers Hornby Castle and Gloria de la Larrinaga, and the American steamer Ancon, were all badly damaged, but escaped destruction. The total damage is estimated at f-00,000.—(A. and N.Z.
