PROFITEERING TRIBUNALS.
PUBLICITY ADVOCATED. (By Telegraph.— Parliamentary Reporter.) WEULKOGTOX, Friday. A plea that more .publicity should be given to the activities of the profiteering tribunals was made by the IHon. J. A. Tlanan to-day, by supplying people with a' knowledge and nature of complaints and method of investigation. He suggested throwing the doors open to the Press.
The Hon. E. P. Lee referred him to the deputation of traders recently who compliiined 'bitterly of the investigations being , made by the 'Board of Trade, suggesting that legislation requiring these investigations should be repealed. That wee one side of the story, and now they had the other side. "If Mie member is asking that fnvestigations be held in ■public, I am inquiring into the Australian system, and will consider whether it is applicable here."
