Kx-Pr-esidcnt C&rranza's last stand against Ueneral Obregon's forces, south of Mexico City, was a heroic und spectacular fight. Without water or food, outnumbered »mi surrounded, the Car-, ranzistas fought desperately against overwhelming odds, General Jlurgnia and Carran.'.a personally leading charges which finally ended in their cutting a way through the beleaguering forces and escaping to the mountains. The opposing forces pay a generous tribute to I'arranza's heroism. His horse was shut under him, but ho mounted another charger ami continued the battle.— lA. and X.Z. Cable.) Last week the revolutionists captured 2000 prisoner?. 24 trains, four pieces of artillery. 200 mnchino-guns, and n great quantity of ammunition and gold and silver bars. Fighting began on Friday morning- After a three hours' battle Carranza and the leading members of h-is party abandoned their tTains and fled in automobiles, escorted by five hundred cavalry. Rebel cavalry pursued them, and held them up until reinforcements arrived, when the last desperate stand and the reeane to the mountains were made.— (Router.)
