METROPOLITAN HOTEL FIRE.
DKATH OF i[R. OSBORNE. The burns received by Mr. John Onborne while escaping from the Metropolitan Hotel yesterday proved of bo serious a character that his death took place this morning at the hospital. Deceased was 23 years of age, and his parents reside at i'enrith, New South Wales. Ho was sleeping on the top storey of. the buildinc and had apparently to rush through the flames to reach the tire escape, as his clothing was burned. He collapsed at the top, but recovering, managed to drop to the verandah, and was from there rescued and dispatched to the hospital.
