WAITEMATA BRIDGE.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —'Will you kindly allow mc a little space in your column in respect to the above proposal. Some time ago I suggested through your .paper what I thought would be a real convenience to the people of the ■Northern shores. B\ parity of reason I think it is worth while to embark in such a discussion, and I am quite pleased to see that the local bodies of Birkenhead are moving in the same direction. Why are they depied this communication? Are they not in respect to the -wise ani good of our people entitled to an honourable and distinguished future? 'Let Uβ also impress on the minds of the rising generation by placing what would be in the form of one of the finest pieces of engineering stretching , cro=e the Waitemata waters. The time has arrived when, the development of tho Northern shores demands consideration of this project.—l am, etc., W.B.
