Building, Newton, or communicate with the president, Miss Dawson. The Mayor of Mount Eden, invites ladies of the district willing to assist in a canvass of the district on behalf of the collection for the poor to meet at the Council Offices at 3 o'clock on Monday afternoon. Those interested in the arrangements for the entertainment of the little children of the Mount E:leu and Maiiiif — whau Schools are invited to- meet at the respective school*;, at 7.30 on Monday evening. Applications are invited in connection with the entertainment which is being arranged by the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Warehousemen's Association for the widows and orphans of soldiers who have been killed, and the dependents of the men in hospital or still on active service, to be held on the afternoon of Monday, July 21st. This will consist of a picture entertainment followed hy high tea and games for the children in the Town Hall. The Auckland Women's Patriotic League and the Returned Soldiers' Association, which are helping, are desirous of applications being sent into the office of the Women's Patriotic League, Grey. Street, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m, on each week-day, and to and including Wednesday. The returned soldiers are particularly anxious to meet as many as possible of the dependents of their'fallen comrades and of those in hospital or still away, and help in their entertainment. --.-.- • '
