STATE GOVERNORS.
SUGGESTED ABOIuITIOTf. (Received 5.45 a.m.) LOXDOX, July 11. The "Daily Chronicle" approves of the representations of Mr \Y. M. McPherson (Victorian Treasurer) regarding the abolition of the office of Governor, and the suggestion that tlie Lieutenant-Gov-ernor should act. It states that the proposal is reasonable and sensible. Since the Federation the Governor-General has become the representative of royalty, and there is no reason why a variety ot petty courts should exist in the State capital:?. State Governors are an anachronism. —(A. and X.Z. Cable.)
