HOSPITAL FOR HUNTLY.
At a meeting of the Waikato Hospital' Board, the Huntly committee recommended that the board erect a cottage hospital .it Hnntly, provided the Huntly Medical Association hand over the present doctor's residence at a peppercorn rental; that the Minister He asked if tie £tiOO per annum provided by the association will carry a subsidy: that a district nurse, with maternity qualifications. be obtained for Pukemiro, that the coal companies be asked for an annual grant, that a doctor, and an assistant be appointed, and that a local hospital committee he set U P to control the hospital. Mr. Bailey said there was an urgent need for a hospital in Huntly, and the men who were contributing to the medical society were prepared to pay their contributions to the board. He thought it was the board's duty to cater for the miners and their wives. The report was adopted, and it was decided to advertise for a nurse for Pukemiro.
