OBITUARY.
MR. FRA'XCIS B. MACESDOE,
Mr- Francis Buchanan Macindoe, a very well-known resident of the Auckland dittrict,, died at Huia Private Hospital this morning, aged (50 years. Mr. ilacindoe was born in Glasgow in 1553, and came to New Zealand in the sailing ship ""William Davie," landing at Portj Chalmers in 1573. He same direct to j Auckland, and with the exception of two! trips home to Scotland, has lived here ever since, and wae well-known as a kauri gum dealer, being a partner in the now defunct firm of P. Barlxr and Co. Mr. Macindoe outlived his wife by about twenty years, but is survived by: tw-o married daughters, Mre. A. E. Tattley and Mrs. H. P. R. Foster, and b>. three sons, Messrs W. G., C G., and 0. K. Macindoe, all three in business in this city. A VERY OLD RESIDENT. The interment took place this afternoon at Waikumi'te Cemetery of Mrs. Eliza Green, at the age of 82 years. Deceased had resided in Auckland for 71 years, having with her parents (DrumMajor and Mrs. Dalton) arrived in the ship Minerva in 1848. The intervening years, with the exception of eight at Mercury Bay, were spent in Auckland. The deceased thus lived to see this city develop from a township of very small proportions to its present size. Mrs. Green was married at an early age to the late Captain G. Jiolton. In 1868 she was married to Mr. William Green, who is even an older colonist, as he arrived in the ship Westminster before the Jlinerva, and is still living, at the age of 03 years. Eleven children survive Mrs. Green, one being Mrs. R. H. Auger, of Scarborough Terrace, Parnell, at whose residence the death occurred.
