THE BUTTER OUTPUT.
NEGOTIATIONS FOR SAKE. WAIKAtS FARMERS' ATTITUDE. (By Telegraph Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. The South Auckland Dairy Association decided to recommend the associated companies to make an advance payment to suppliers for September for butterfat at the rate of 1/2 a lb for butter, 1/4 for cheese, and 1/6 for dried milk. It was indicated that a further substantial reduction would he recommended next month unless the National Government at once appointed Mr. Ellison, dairy producers' official representative in London, to negotiate in conjunction with the High Commissioner with the Imperial Government for the sale of the coming season's butter and cheese. It was stated that the apparent inaction of the Government was most unsatisfactory to all concerned, and would probably result in considerable lose to the country. As this matter has been dragging on since last April the Association resolved to forward a strong protest to the Hon. D. H. Guthrie.
