MAJOR B. F. JORDAN. Private advice has been received in Christchurch tliat Major B. F. Jordan, late of Kangiora, was killed accidentally jin England on May 24.' Major Jordan ,v.ac second in command at C'odiord I Camp, a position he had tilled for a considerable time. He wai one of the iiret in .North Canterbury to volunteer for service at the outbreak of the war. and left with the Main Body in charge of D Company, 13th North Canterbury and Wetstland Regiment. He was at the landin;; on Gallipoli, and after some months of service on the peninsula returned to New Zealand on sick leave, but coon left again for Enpland. in civilian life he was identified prominently with many nubl'c bodies.

LIEUT J. P. FARRELL. Limit. J. P. Farrell, reported severely wounded, is a son of Mr. J. Farrell, late of Dominion Road, and now of Mataniata. He was attached to the 22nd Reinforcements, and left New Zealand in February of last year. He was educated in Matamata. where his parents lived previous to going to Auckland, and was conspicuous in athletic circles. Previous to enlisting Lieut. Farrell was a schoolteacher in the King Country. A cable received this week states that his wound Ls in the right arm, and is such as to prevent him seeing further active service.

CORPORAL F. E. SHALE. Corporal F. E. Smale, who died of fever in England. April 4, lfllS, was the son of Mrs K. J. Wall, of Randolph Street. Newton. [to began his early studies at the Karangahakc School of Mini*, and in 1!)13 won a medal for liighest proficiency. In 1015 he was one of two students who gained the mining scholarship. He enlisted while a student at Otago University, leaving Xew Zealand November, 101(i. with the Nineteenth Reinforcements.

PEIVATE JOHN RANDALL. Mrs. Martin, of 74. Jervois Road. Ponsonby. received advice to-day, that her son, Private John Piandall." has been dangerously wounded in the right knee, face and chest. Before enlisting, Pte. Randall was employed at Messrs. Cashmore Bros.' mill.

PRIVATE A. H. BEDFORD. Dr. R. Bedford has been notified that his second son, Private Arthur Hardy Bedford, 7th Battalion, Canadian Infantry, has been admitted to hospital suffering from gunshot -wounds in the face and legs. Private Bedford, who is 31 years of was for about ten years an agricultural instructor in the " United States, and went to Canada to enlist, He has been on ax-tive service for about eighteen months. A brother, Lieut R. 11. Bedford, Canadian Forces, also enlisted from the United States, and a third brother. Sergeant T. H. Bedford was invalided out of the Xew Zealand Expeditionary Force some time a<jo after loiil' service.
