ATTEMPTED BURGLARY.
(By Telegraph — 1-ress Asso.-iation.) OI'OTIKr, this day. A darinj; attempt at burglary was made in Church Street shortly" after midnight. A plate-lass window 'in front ot Mr. .1 A. Dalgety'a jewellery shop was smashed with a heavy instrument but the noise attracted attention, the' burglar became alarmed, and ran before securing any jewellery. Active search was made for the miscreant, but so far has been unsuccessful.
