CARLTON CLL'B. \ THE ANNUAL MEETING. ' The twenty-fourth annual meeting of the Carlton Rowling Club was held In the pavilion, Fairfax Road, last evening, ami drew a large attendance of members. From the financial statement submitted it was found that the club's revenue ras larger than ever before, the receipts in cash being over £030. (he highest iv the club's history, while the assets of the club are valued at over £3000. The annual report showed that the club had been again specially favoured by the liberality of its members, the sum of £2Go iv debentures having been presented by certain member* as a free gift to the club, besides numerous other gifts of furniture, etc., for fitting up the club rooms. The membership of the club Is now 128, an increase of four on last year, in spite of the fact that some half dozen of the club's younger members tire now at the front.. The club matches played during the season resulted as follows:—Slugies champion, A. G. Fookes: runner-up, G. E. Lamb. First year champion. It. C. Cross; runner-up, L. G. Chisholm. President's handicap, A. G. Fookes; runner-up. R. C. Cross. Club fours: Bathgate. Hamilton, Clarke, O'Sullivan; runneraup—Brown, A. C. Pollard, Marriott. Peckman. The club played twelve Intorclulj matches, winning nine and losing three. Donations of prizes for. matches had been made by Messrs. Snedden, Thomson. O'Brien, H. Ralnger, S. I, Clarke, G. Pollard, A. Kidd and NY. Arey. The election of officers for the coming season resulted as follows:—President, Mr J. A. Snedden; vice-presidents. Messrs S. IL Lamb and J. M. Thomson; lion, secretary, Nlr NY. 1-;. Nominations were received from nine new members for admission to the club.
