HOCKEY.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. ' The nsaal weekly meeting of the Executive Committee was held on Tuesday eveuing. The following were present:— Messrs R. H. Barton .(chairman), D. Baxter, It. W. Bennett, It. H. Kllllp. J. L. Jerram, G. C. Malcolm, R. E. Fweett, G. (Brinsden, J. L. Tuohey, 'H. J. Grayson, and. -Key, AY. I*. Hughes. Mr J. J. Walklate wrote accepting office as vice-president and enclosing a donation, for which he was cordially thanked. The Areta Club applied, for the following transfers, which -were granted:—H. Preston, from senior to second; 'L. A. Ryms, senior to second; and S. A. Paull, second to fourth. The University Club were granted per- ■ -mission to re-grade NY. A. NVilson from. ; senior to second grade. A member of North Shore third grade . team, attended to answer a charge against '. hint of unsportsmanlike conduct during , llfeir match against SomerveL on June 4. '.' The evidence tendered was conflicting, so r it was decided to ask the referee concerned c to attend the next meeting of the com- . mittee. » In connection with the recent sports car- > nival, it was reported that the winner and ! second place runners in the Junior chamt pionship were both over the ag9 of 18 ; years, and -were therefore not eligible to • compete. It was decided to declare the • third man. A. Paiee. the winner, and he - is entitled to the medal presented by Mr 1 J. S. Prince. The Emergency Committee's action in transferring -S. F.. Bishop from Jit Eden to Areta was confirmed. The secretary (Nlr D. .Baxter! tendered his' resignation, stating that he was finding II extremely difficult to conduct the affairs of the Association to bis satisfaction owing to business and family reasons. The committee assured Mr Baxter that he enjoyed ■ their full confidence, and requested him to : reconsider his decision.
