-Sergeant F. W. Lang, of E Conipanv, Twenty-seventh Reinforcements (Infantry), has been promoted to SecondLieut., and transferred to the Thirtyfirst Reinforcements. He went into camp with the probationary "N'.C.O.'s of the Twenty-seventh Reinforce—ncnts.
As the bulk of the Twenty-eighth Reinforcements come from the Auckland district, the question is being raised whether the authorities cannot see their way to let the final port of departure be from the Waitemata. Companies \ and E are practically all from Auckland C from North of this city, D from' jHauraki. and V from the Bay of Plenty land it is therefore claimed" to be oniv ifair Auckland should be the port of de I—rture.
On *,*, ednesday evening the Railway Ramblers con.-ert party visited the Costley Home, and a very enjoyable concert was given to a large gathering of patients. °
