A SPEEDY SETTLEMENT.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. A civil case, Ralph Coleman Smyth (Mr. Ostler) v. the Queensland Insurance Company) (Mr. D. C. Bamford), claiming £280, amount of a policy, was called in the Supreme Court to-day. A jury was empanelled. Mr. Ostler asked for an adjournment for two minutes, as there was a probability of settlement. In less than one minute he announced that a settlement had been effected, and the case was struck out.
