NAVY LEAGUE.
The usual meeting ot the. executive ot The Auckland branch of the Navy .League was hold In the offlce, Sanford's Buildings, ou Monday, 11th Inut., Captain Thomas (president) taking the chalT. 'Fifty-two new members were elected. Very interesting reports telling of progress all along the llDe were received from Education, Publicity, and Entertainment Committees, and the llnauce was reported to bs in a satisfactory condition. The social evening given on Jut'.anel Day wns a great success, nnd It Is hoped to hold these meetings regularly. It wits resolved to write to' London asking for particulars concerning disbursement of money forwarded for .relief work, and expressing again the wishes of the donors that it should be nsed for that purpose only; to write branch leagues asking their opinion on this matter: also, on a resolution proposed by Mr Cbeal, .that the Minister of T— ucatlon be requested to make instruction In matters of naval Importance pari of the school curriculum in future. The date of meeting of executive wns altered to second Wednesday In the moiUli. The new office and rooms are a great Improvement, and the Indices have now plenty.of room for their excellent work. During the month the members of the executive had the plensurc of meeting Mr Sballn—is, hon. secretary of the Wellington branch.
