TAKAPUNA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A nieetinz of the Takapuna Borough Council was held ou Wednt—day, there being present the Mayor (Mr W. Biota Held) Messrs E. Bond, T. B. Arthur, It. 8. Blss, E. Davies, E. E. Grlnvwade, W. Duncan, J. M. Davies. J. Colllus. and w. I—jk.
It was decided to levy a general rate of ■ljd in the pound, and a hospital rate of 1-fld in the pound, both on the capital value, for the current financial year.
It was deeildea that representatives from the Council be present to confer with the Public Services Committee of the City Council on June 20, with reference to tbe proposed hydro-electric scheme for the ■Auckland Province.
The report of the Street* and Works Committee was adopted as follows:—That the grader be put on Hurley Rond, and the road reformed, and 'that the footpath on the south-east side -be attended to where necessary; that Dominion Street be graded for a distance of 10 to 12 chains, and the footpath be attended to; fJlbboiis Rood be metalled, rrossl-ngs to each house be formed, and the footpath ker-bed witb timber: and that the road leading to Bayawater wharf be attended to.
