ANOTHER WET WEEK-END.
HEAVY DOWNPOUR OF RAIN
Another wet week-end was experienced in Auckland, when a heavy shower of rain, accompanied by a thunderstorm, fell in the city and "suburbs yesterday. At a little before eight o'clock yesterday morning a tropical downpour" of rani, which lasted about 10 minutes, fell heavily, the rainfall as registered by Mr. Burnett, the Meteorological observer, from Saturday nig-ht to 9 a.m. Sunday morning being 1.04 inch. The rainfall yesterday was .25 inch. At the time of the heavy downpour yesterday morning Queen Street resembled a miniature watercourse, the vents being unable to carry off the water, but the water immediately subsided when the shower ceased. The low-lying districts were somewhat submerged by the flood-water, but no damage is reported.
