RUSSIANS CAPTURE POSITIONS SOUTH OF BRZEZANY.

PETROGRAD, October 6.
A Russian communique states:—"Fierce' battles arc in progress in tbe region of Peniaki, Gukolavce, and Mlynovcc-. in the Dniester sector. The enemy's counter-attacks continue, and he obstinately reeiete our offensive. We captured some positions southward of Brzezany.
"We continue our Caucasus coastal advance towards the River Karshud darass. Our Dobrudja offensive continues."
