McGahan, reported killed in action, was born at Tuakau, and 'was educated at VThangarata public Bchool and the. Auckland Grammar School. Prior to enlisting with the" Samoan Advance Guard, - Sergt. McGahan was employed 6n the railway, and was stationed at Ohakune. He returned from Samoa and joined the Expeditionary Force. I '
