Short-dated loans, which hardened . yesterday to 4* per cent., as against 4} per cent, last week, were unquotable. The market is good for prime quality, and relative prices are obtained for other grades. Sydney fruit landed da good condition, and/sold at advanced rates. Nelson Stunners are in good supply ex i*egulus, and best fruit sells welL Local lemons and -Poornian oranges are in demand. The Talune is due on Monday with-a full cargo of bananas, and prices are likely to rule similar to last month. The potato market is not at the moment overstocked, and best quality sampled are in demand at quotation; all lines are more or less blighty. Onions: are in good supply, and the market is easier. Kumaras and pumpkins axe In better demand. Freeh eggs are easier. Farmers' butter Is selling well.
