ILLEGAL BETTING.
(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) PAEROA, this day. In the Magistrate's Court to-day Chas. Jackson, hairdresser and tobacconist, pleaded "Guilty" to a charge of being the occupier of premises used for betting, that he did receive money for the consideration of assurance to pay thereafter money on a contingency relating to a horse race. He was convicted and fined £5 and costs.
