FRENCH LOSSES AT VERDUN ONLY 12,000.
ITALIAN OFFENSIVE CHECKS AUSTRIAN REINFORCEMENTS.
(Times and Sydney Son Service*.) LONDON, March 16. There is the best authority for stating that the total French losses at Verdun are less than 12.000, -while only 84 pieces of artillery were abandoned after they had been rendered useless. Owing to the Italian offensive, 50.000 Anstrians, who were about to reinforce the Germans at Verdun, have been stopped at Innsbruck.
