GERMANS DIGGING IN WEST OF DOUAUMONT,
VIOLENTLY BOMBARDED BY FRENCH ARTILLERY. 1
The High Commissioner reports under date of London, March 46:—• In the region north of Verdun, no infantry action was reported. * The French artillery violently bombarded the region west of Douaumont, where the enemy is digging in. In the Woevre the French bombarded several supply columns.
