The Christchurch Evening News has been commenting on the badness of much of the Christchurch bread and the danger therefrom to the health of those who use much of it. In Friday night's issue the editor sije: "We have to-day been furnished with one exhibit which fully illustrates our point. It is some bread which was baked m Auckland on Monday last. It was made with compressed yeast of the scientifically and hygenically prepared type used in other parts of the world. To-day the bread is as sweet as the day it was made, in epite of its travel and exposure. Its texture i 3 totally different from that of the bread so many of ns are forced to eat here. The irony of the situation is that - this Auckland bread wae made with compressed yeast jnarie in Christchurch."
