SEAMEN'S UNION DISPUTE.

FIREMAN REFUSED ADMISSION. Hearing was resumed before Mr. C. C. Kettle, S.M., this afternoon, at the Magistrate's Court, in the case between the Auckland Branch of the Australasian Federated Seamen's Union (Mr. A. E. Skelton), and the Auckland Seamens and Firemen's Union (Mr. Prendergast). In this case the action was that a penalty of £50 be imposed on the defendant union for an alleged breach of an industrial agreement entered into with the Northern Steamship Co., in that the defendant union failed to admit to membership a fireman named William Simpson, a man of good character. The secretary of tlie defendant union, Mr. Wigg -was re-called for cross-examina-tion by Mr. A. E. Skelton.
