CRIMINAL IN KHAKI.
SYDNEY, tin's day. William Evans was yesterday sentenced to six months' imprisonment at Newcastle. Evans, who was wearing a British officer's uniform with two rows of medal ribbons, obtained a cheque book and gave a valueless cheque. _lle claimed that he was entitled to wear the uniform. The magistrate said the uniform would inspire confidence and enable the wearer to rob the public.
