WELSH DISESTABLISHMENT.
THE PROPOSED COMPROMISE. (Received 10.5 a.m.) LONDON, March 16. Speaking in tbe" House of' Commons regarding the proposals for effecting a compromise with the Church authorities over the Welsh Disestablishment Bill, Mr Asquitb said he regretted that the Welsh members of the. House had not been consulted in connection .with the. compromise. He .said. the bill he was introducing provided an equitable modus' vivendi, and. he hoped to secure a general assent for it. The second reading of the bill was postponed, and will not be taken until after Easter.
