TIMARTI, Thursday.
A great patriotic carnival and harvest festival were held here to-day in aid of the Belgian Fund. Commercial travellers from all parts of New Zealand assisted in a very effective way. The election of a queen of the carnival brought in £6000, and there was a •brilliant crowning ceremony, supervised by Mr. Owen.Carson. The whole function will realise about £ 10,000.
