.In the House of Commons, asked whether arrangements could be made to utilise the services of the young men of the Dominions who were anxious to serve, Mr L. V. Harcourt (Secretary of State for the Colonies) said that all the self-governing Dominions had put large forces into the field, and were maintaining them in ever-increasing strength. The Government considered that arrangements for dealing with available recruits were best left to the Dominion Governments. '
