NEW ZEALANDER KILLED.

Advice hae. been received in Wellingtdn to-day that Private William Bainbridge, a son of Mr. 'H. B. Bainbridge, secretary of the St. John Ambulance Association, . Wellington, was .killed in action in North France in January. He wae a member of the Kins's Koyal Kifles.
News has been . received by mail by Constable Heeps 'of Waihi,' recording the death of his brother Walter in an engagement at La Bassee, on the 25th January. Private Heeps was a member of the. Ayrshire police force in Scotland, and at the beginning of the war resigned from the. force to join the ' Scottish Guards. It was while fighting with, this regiment in the trenches that he wae shot in the bead.. ,".' ';..„ ~ '..: 1
