ANOTHER SITE WANTED. Recently the Xorthcote Borough Council took steps to urge the erection of a new post office upon the member for the district, Mr. A- Harris. This hae raised the question of site, and the Mayor any many of • the councillors axe apparently displeased with the acquisition Jby the Postal Department of a site alongside ±he present poet office premieee. At last night's meeting of the Council it was resolved, on the motion of Cr. Tonar, seconded by Mr. Crowley, that the Postmaster-General be written to inquiring the reason .'khy the new site was purchased after the opinion expressed by a majority of "the councillors that the nesv post office should be placed in a rerrfrral position, in the vicinity of the Council Chambers for preference. The Mayor, Crs. Still well, Tonar, Hunt, Popkins, "and Crowley voted for the motion. An amendment to the effect that the -Council confine its efforts to having a new building erected, leaving the question of site to the postal authorities, was negatived, being: supported byCrs. Greenslade,' , Fearnley, and Broady.
