SWALLOWED THE LOOT.
A burglar named Louis Nectoux. but better known to the authorities as "Lead Piping," is to be operated on for appendicitis at Autun. "Lead Piping," the "Express" says, broke into a safe at Autun. and made off' with £o—a £4 note and £2 in gold. The alarm was given before he got fairly away, and just as he was caught he swallowed the note and the gold. He is now suffering such acute pain from his ill-gotten wealth that an operation is necessary-
