RAREST BIRD IN THE WORLD.
An individual with n weatherbeafeu face and dressed like a bluejacket (says the Taris correspondent of the "Daily Mail") has for several days been wandering about tbe Pantheon district of Tarts with half a dozen birds of fantastic plmuage in a cage. Two days ago on the Place de l'Estrapade an old woman asked the price of the birds.
"Two sovereigns each, madam." said the man. 'and cheap at the price. They are pigeons from the role, and the rarest birds in the. world."
The woman bought a pair, and next day one bird died and the other's feathers faded from a brilliant orange to the grey of t_t ilo-iestic pigeon.
