AN ALLEGED INJUSTICE.

WAIHT. HIGH SCHOOL. STRONG PROTEST SENT TO THE BOARD. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WA.IHI, -this day. At a meeting of the Schools Committee last evening.Messrs. Mulgan and Burns' report re alleged dissatisfaction, with the management of the secondary department of the High School, and tie Board's covering letter holding the headmaster responsible, was discussed at .length. Speakers pointed out that, whilst the report said that there were no grounds for bhe charge of laxity of control preferred by certain members of the Commit tee, and that all the Inspectors' reports were entirely favourable, yet the Board had condemned the headmaster. It was resolved: " That the Committee feel they cannot allow an injustice to be done to the head teacher without a strong protest, and Tequest the Board to withdraw its accusation of neglect; also, that the Committee would like to know why the head teacher has been most unjustly singled out for abuse and charged with having neglected his dirty, instead of being commended for the excellent tone which was found to prevail." It was decided to write to the Board in the above terms. There is much feeling here in the matter.

Messrs. Thompson and Sherson were appointed to vacancies caused by the resignations of Messrs. Potter and Bevereux. Mr. Shenson was elected secretary. The headmaster's reports noted that -the attendances had been cdnaiderablv reduced on account of vaccination.
