FERRY COMPANY'S OFFER.
FREE PASSAGES FOR THE MEN. Messrs E. W. Alison and Alex. Alison, i of the Devonport Ferry Company, accompanied by Mr B. M. Wilson, the general manager of the Tourist Department (who is representing the Government in the general arrangements of the visit), went on board the New Zealand this morning and informed Captain Halsev that they would be glad if the officers and men would consider themselves the guests" of the company while in Auckland and travel .free on all the ferry boats. In addition to this the company is generously taking the school children off to the ship free of charge. Captain Halsey said it was very kind of the company to ma—r ; such an'offer, and.he had much pleasure ih accepting it.
