DUNEDIN, this day. At an inquest with regard to the death *>f George Allen, insurance agent, whose body was found on St. Clair Beach last Saturday, the evidence disclosed a rather Unfortunate aspect as regards the cause °f death, which was due to cold and exposure. A'witntss (an officer in a temperance lodge) said he saw deceased, apparently under the influence of liquor, on the path on Friday afternoon, and tried hard to rouse him, but failed. After finding his insurance papers he reported the man's condition to the company concerned, but Do further action was taken, and Allen Was found dead 24 hours later. A verdict was returned tjiat death was ttoe to cold and exposure, the Coroner remarking'that there had been an unfortunate error of judgment on the part of the witness who found him under the influence of liauor.
