GRADING OF TEACHERS.

■ The Finance Committee of the Auckland Board of Education submitted at the Board meeting to-day a comprehensive series of recommendations regarding the grading and promotion of teachers. These were considered, and, in the main, approved, but one or two points' were deferred and referred back to the inspectors' staff for .consideration. The Board, for instance, affirmed the principle of an annual grading and of the allocation of extra marks for prolonged country service, and these matters will be the subject of further consideration.
