RE CRICKET.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —T« cricket 7 being encouraged as it should he in Auckland? After the Chrie'tmas holiday all district championships were postponed for a week to the lS'tii inst,, making a whole month of delay. Very few people went out to Eden Park to see the N'.S.'W. Teachers, partly because University gave them a ve-vy close game that week, and partly because the Auckland team, being rather weak, preferred doing something themselves. The Oddfellows' picnic is to 1c held in the Domain on the 22n:l of next month. On that Saturday the matches begun the previous week will be finished. The following Saturday the Amateur Athletic Sports will be held on the same ground, which means no matches there for four Saturdays. Furthermore, the Exhibition intends to claim a monopoly of the Domain next season. I think it is about time that cricketers bestirred themselves.—l am, etc., JUNIOR.
