AUCKLAND LICENSING COURT
The quarterly ■sitting of the Auckland Licensing Committee was held this mom ing in the Police Court Present; Mrs E. C. Cutten (chairman), and Messrs. J. J. Holland, L. J. BagnaH and W. (1 Somers. The only business transacted was the granting of five transfers, no complaints of any nature being brought before the committee. The transfers were as follows: Freeman’s Hotel (Oias. E. Watts to Henry H. Dyer); Rising Sun Hotel (Henry P. Smith to William H. Gaw); Shamrock Hotel (Charles Lomas to William Conner) ; Occidental Hotel (Alexander Johnston ‘to John E. R Thorpe); Queen’s Head Hotel (Andrew Sommers to Thomas W. Haigh). KAXPARA, The following nine candidates have been nominated for the Kaipara licensing bench:—G. N. Hayes, D. Finlayson, T.” Bassett, J. A. McLean, V. Trounson, T. R. Atkinson, M. Harding, H. Hook, and H. J. Slade. The loiter four represent the No-license party, and the others are independent candidates.
