A new annexe, which was 'being built in reinforced concrete, was nearing completion, when the ceilings and walls collapsed owing, it is believed, to the hasty maimer in which the work was carried out.. Most of those killed wctc suffocated by the dust and terribly crushed. Heart-rending scenes were witnessed after the disaster. Several wives of the workmen on bn.aging the dinners for their husbands, found that the latter were dead.
