M.C.C.'S VISIT.

A STATEMENT RI-FTJTED. SYDNEY, June 12. The secretary of the Cricket Board of Control states that he is surprised at the cablegram in regard to tbre statement by the secretary of the M.C.C It was onlylast week, he says, that he received a cablegram from the Maryleione Club asking whether it was wished that a team should be sent to Australia, this year. He replied 6tating that the Board was expecting the team, as it inijended adhering to the programme agreed upon in connection with the triangular "tests. The secretary to the M.C.C. stated that he had twice cabled awl sent letters to Australia dealing with points requiring settlement regarding the English cricket team's proposed visit to Australia in the autumn. The Board of Control had not replied, and unless a reply was soon received it might be impossible to send a team even if Australia wished it.
