During a conference of miners at Cardiff heated references were made to the leadership of Air. V. __. Abraham, M.P. for I Rh<>-dda, president of the South Waies I Miners' Federation. j The delegates resolved to ask tbe conjference of Miners' Federation of Great | Britain to take a vote on proposal for a I general strike on the minimum wage question. I I The Cambrian coal strike has already ! lasted for half a year, at a heavy loss I both to miners and mineowners, estimated i recently at £2.2.50,000. A few weeks back, jas a result of a conference, an agreement I was submitted, but a minority of the | council of the South Wales Miners' Fedei ration refused to accept the agreement. | Subsequently a further conference took I place, at which the representatives of the j South Wales miners aga:„ rejected the j provisional agreement for the settlement jof the strike, and decided to continue the i struggle against the owners to the bitter I end. The delegates also resolved to ask j the National Conference of the Miners' i Federation of Great Britain to declare a ! national stoppage of work until the minij mum wage question had been decided: or. in the alternative, to allow a general stoppage en the South Waies coalfields. In a circular addressed to the Miners' Federation of Great Britain, dealing with the Cambrian dispute, Mr. Ashton. the secretary, animadverts upon the Cambrian miners rejecting the agreement reI cently submitted, which lie says embodied j what was asked for, and then seeking to ! enforce rule 20, which was intended to be j operative only when all other means had II ailed.
