The High Commissioner's report, dated London, Juno 10th, is as follows;— Mutton.—The market is s.eady, with moderate demand. Holders siro ilrra. Canterbury 3Jd, North Island 3gd. Lamb: There Is good demand lor all lamb. An elTort is being made amongst holders to raise the price. Canterbury 4Jd, other than Canterbury 4§d. ■Beet. —.stocks of New Zealand _eef on hand are light, and prices are firmer. .Supplies of American chilled beef are huige. New Zealand hindquarters 3?d, fores 2gd. Butter.—The market is favourably affected ou account of dry weather resulting in a better demand. Choicest New Zealand 105/, Australian .08/, Danish 111/. Siberian 08/. Cheese.—The market has recovered and there is a better demand. Average price for the week for finest New Zealand per cwt, 68/. Hemp.—The market is steady, and prices have been well maintained, tvl_i better demand for forward delivery. .New Zealand good fair, on spot, per ton £21; .New Zealand fair grade, £20; fair current Manila, £-0. forward shipment of New Zealand fair, £21 10/; fair grade, £20 5/\ fair current Manila, £__. The output from Manila for the week was 25,000 kales. Wheat.—The market is very quiet, and no business is being done. Prices (nominal) are as follows;— New Zealand long-berried, ex granary, on spot, per quarter of 4961b5, dby; short-berried, 35/. Oats.—The market was quiet, but steady. New Zealand oats, short sparrowbllls, ex granary, on spot, per quarter of 3841b5, 2/8; Danish, per quarter of 3201b5, 17/6. /leans. —T* 11 * demand has considerably fallen off. .N.Z. beans, f.a.q., old crop, per 5041b5, 35/. c ' * Peas.—The market is depressed at present, but is expected to improve soon. There Is more demand for forward shipment. N.Z pens (partridge), per 5041b5, 40/6. Eggs.—The market is quiet, but steady. There is a general and active demand, while only moderate supplies arc coming forwnrd. Italian, per 120. 8/3 to 0/3; Danisli, 7/9 to f'/fl; Hungarian, 5/6 to 8/; Russian, 5/6 to 11. Poultry.—The market Is firm general, and there Is an netlve demand for chickens. The aver.ige prices are: American, 84d per lb; Russian, Bd. Ducklings. 6d; turkeys, Bd. Lambs: First quality, 4 7-16 d: second quality, 4Jd. Beef: Frozen fores, 2id; hinds, 3Jd; chilled fores, 2jd; hinds, 3Jd. NETT ZEALAND PORTLAND CEMENT coatPA-rs. HALF-YEARLY DIVIDEND. The directors of the New Zealand Portland Cement Co. met this morning, and declared a dividend of 4 per cent, for the half-year ending 30th of April, 1911, payable on the 30th of June, 1911. niLL AND PLUMMER, LIMITED. The report of the year's operations, presented at the annual meeting of Hill aud Plummer, Limited, this afternoon, stated that the year had been a most satisfactory I one, the firm's turnover having increased by £8000. The profits show a corresponding increase, and after writing off depreciation on plant, stock, etc.. the directors were able to declare a dividend of 10 per cent, and a. bonus of 2 per cent., as against a 10 per cent, dividend only for the year previous.
