THE GREY LVNN FIRE.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —It is to be regretted that at the late fire in Grey Lynn a lot of thieving took place; also, as Superintendent Fenton states, damage was done to the fire apparatus. Surely this state of affairs points to the great advantage the suburbs would benefit by joining in a Greater Auckland scheme. In the above-mentioned case the well-appointed city brigade would have been on the spot in the twinkling of a n eye, and probably confined the fire to the one house; also the Salvage Corps could have stopped the pilfering that went on.—l am, etc., GREATER AUCKLAND,
