WHANGAREI.
A firing match for the Lord Roberts' trophy, presented to the 11th Regiment, took place at- Otaika range between the Marsden Mounted Rifles (holders) and Bay of Islands (challengers). The Marsdens retain the trophy with a score of 393, against their opponents' 296. Lieutenant W. Mackesey was the highest individual scorer with a total of 85 out of a possible 105. At a meeting of the Whangarei Rugby Union it was decided to admit the Kiripaka Club to the Whangarei competitions. The following fixtures were arranged: Saturday, June 17. City v. Kiripaka. at Kensington Park; Saturday, June 24, Whangarei v. Kiripaka, at Kirfpaka.
