WHERE IS THE CLOCK?
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I notice in the report of proceedings of our City Council, that the engineer stated that the tower at the Town Hall is almost completed, that the place for a clock is ready, Uut tha/t no provision has been made for such Ibeing placed in position. Strange to say, that aothing was done about the matter, and, stranger still, no member of the Council grasped the situation and claimed the honour of being a donor of a clock for our grand Town Hall. What an ob-ject-lesson it would have been if the Council as a whole had risen to the occasion and undertaken the presentation of a suitable clock, and earned for themselves the plaudits of the city ratepayers!—l am, etc., E.J.W.
