RELAY ROAD RACE.
OKEnuNGA TO AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND V.M.C.A. DEFEATS ONEUCNUA V.M.C.A. a challenge relay road race from Onehiinga to Auckland was run oft on SnturlriL' 'the Auekliind anil Ouehuusa Y.M.C.A.'s respectively. The route wns via Maiiukauroatl, KUyber l'aea. Syuionds-etreet, Karnii-galuipo-iourl, Fitt-street, Hobsoii-street uud Wellesley-street to tlie Auckland Association's rooms. The first ' relays. Vicury (Auckland) and Kennedy (Ouehungaj were sent away from the Onehunga Association's rooms shortly after four o'clock. Vicary assumed the lead anrt reached the cud of the section a minute ahead of Kennedy, who took matters easily ou the hill uearlng Seiwyn-street. the end of the first stage, Rpndell (Auckland) and Cole (Onehunga) tOOli Up the running to Seddons etatue, and the Auckland man more than held hia own. The next stage carried the ruuuers, 0. Stevens (Auckland) and Holmes (Ouehunga) on to the One-tree HIVI gates, and there was no change in the posltluua. l.isileton (Auckland) and Wells (Ouehuug-a) run well to Jones-street, where Auckland was ■100 yards ahead. After this Onehunga steadily lessened the gap, wlilch was reduced to luO yards at tile Great Northern Brewery. The Ooiupetltors in tliese ttt^ges were W Clark (Attclrtaud v. WUauu (Onphungn); H. A. Roblnoon (Auckland) v. Ilosken (Onehunga): J. Irwin (Auckland) V. Gilford (Onehunga); King (Auckland) r. Comrle (Onehunga); and G. Marshall (Aueklund) v. Hluks (Onehunga).
