(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) FATALITY AT ELTHA'M. ELTHAM, this day. John .Tones, a labouring man, about 45 years, employed at Maxapu, when returning home from Eltham on Saturday night was thrown from a horse and killed. A COACH CAPSIZED. OREYMOUTH, this day. The Otira express was delayed for an hour on Saturday evening owing to a coach capsizing in the Bealey Cutting. Fortunately no one was injured. CONCILIATION COUNCIL. CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. The Council of Conciliation, at the conclusion of its public sittings, went : through the various clauses in the demands of the New Zealand Federated Bootmakers' Association of Workers, in order, if possible, to arrive at a basis for the settlement of the dispute. It was, however, found impossible to arrive at any settlement, and it was decided to refer the dispute to the Arbitration Court. The Council unanimously agreed to a resolution regretting its inability to effect a settlement in the present dispute, but expressing its high appreciation of the effort of the Commissioner (Mr. J. R. Triggs) to bring about a settlement. NELSON DRAINAGE LOAN. NELSON, this day.
